June 9, 2017 - Morning game drive and drove to Ngorongoro Serena Lodge

We had another game drive before we departed from Serengeti National Park.  We spotted vultures and other birds eating their meal.
We also saw the way zebras approaching water hole for drink. A false move of a single zebra can trigger the whole herd to jump and run away from the water hole.
We also spotted a family of lions including a male lion laying under a tree. Then they decided to move forward. Augustine was able to get us the best spot to take nice action pictures/videos of them.
These lions walked to another tree and some of them decided to climb up the tree to rest. Eventually, there were 5 lions on the tree.
On our way out of Serengeti National Park, we spotted another lion watching and waiting to attack a warthog in a distance. Unfortunately, she waited too long and we just had to leave without seeing the chasing and hunting.
It was a long drive again from Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Serena Lodge.
Ngorongoro Conservation Area is famous for the volcanic Ngorongoro Crater and the home of the “big 5” game (elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino). Huge herds of wildebeests and zebras traverse its plains during their annual great migration. The 2009 Ngorongoro Wildlife Conservation Act placed new restrictions on human settlement and subsidence farming in the Crater, and thousands of Maasai have moved out of the Crater and settled in the highland surround the Crater. We witnessed a lot of livestock belonging to the Maasai tribe and it is an area where human, livestock and wildlife live in the same environment.

Maasia tribe is the only tribe allowed to live in this area due to the fact that they do not hunt wildlife and they only consume livestock they raised. They don't eat much vegetables, however, they are all tall and slim. They do walk a lot. It makes us to think that walking is the best way to keep a slim figure.

When we got to the lodge, it was late in the afternoon and we just rest and had dinner in the lodge. Our lodge room has an patio facing the Ngorongoro Crater and the view is breathtaking.
Prior to dinner, they provided a Maasai dance show for guests. It was interesting, but not exciting.
